My African goose Assyra is biting at her own feet? Only the bottom of them like she's uncomfortable but she doesn't have any bumblefoot or anything they just look dry.Like when your hands get dry and crack.Should I put lotion on her legs and feet? Any ideas? She doesn't appear to be in a lot of discomfort just enough that she chews on her feet every once in awhile.Ill try and get pictures of her feet.Im probably just overreacting.Could it be scaly leg mites? If so what does that look like?

They look like they just need a little love.Is there such thing as a goose pedicure? :p She has a kiddie pool available to her at all times except at night when she's in the coop house because her and her other waterfowl buddies manage to make an indoor mud puddle. But during the day she can swim and soak her feet when ever she chooses. My other goose and ducks feet look like hers but she's the only one seeming to be uncomfortable.

I doesn't look like mites but it could be early stages of them. Wash her feet and legs in dawn really well and watch your other birds to see if they're doing the same thing she is. After you was her see if she continues to bite her feet and if she does apply antibiotic ointment daily.

I really hope this helps but I don't have geese. I only have ducks and chickens. You could maybe soak her feet in apple cider vinegar if she's still biting them after you wash them. They just don't look like any thing is wrong with them! Ugh! I hate when something's wrong but you can't really tell what it is!

I washed her feet and her sister's just because I was already doing it but I think their fine maybe she got pricked by a sticker or something that had just irritated her foot at that moment because she seems to have stopped but if anything new happens I'll be certain to post it! :)
