Oxytetracycline isn't very effective anymore. Tabs/capsules or injections are more effective depending on the type of antibiotic used. That is why I recommended Cephalexin capsules. It absorbs well in the intestinal tract. If it is Cholera, then sulfa drugs are often used to treat it. Maybe the vet could give you a Trimethoprim-Sulfa suspension to feed the bird orally with a syringe. It works both ways for cholera/bacterial infections. For individual treatment, I don't care for water dispersible antibiotics since it is hard to tell if the bird is getting enough if it isn't drinking enough. I would think you may have better success with geese though, since they drink more than chickens. I grew up with geese, but have not had them for many years.

So will baytril work I herd it's the ultimate 67.50$ mind you he's a male i.e no eggs and I would never ever eat a goose after living with one to me it's like owning a dog

I have asked somebody experienced with geese to look at your posts and offer any help they can..

Hang in there!

I cannot add any more to what Michael Apple has said even though I have had geese for 8 yrs but haven't had to use any meds with them other than worming. I respect his knowledge of meds and think he is on the right track. Hope you goose recovers from what ever is going on.

So will baytril have the same effect as sulfadimethoxine?need to know should I just start it or wait a day so the sulfadimethoxine wears off I don't wanna nuke my bird

So basically dose baytril cover all the bases vet said 22.7mg pill twice a day crushed up and mixed with water syringe fed mind you I still did not get fecal test back I don't want him losing anymore energy

Dose anyone have any baytril experience need to know before I syringe this into him my vet admitted she dosent work with geese allot all these ideas are from me researching for 2 weeks will baytril work endofloxcyn?
