My Goose was sick

The 9 day old goose has fluid in her lungs and was breathing through her mouth, that is what the clicking sound is. I have started her on tetracycline in her water for the next 5 days.

I'm sorry to hear this, I am thinking Penicillin might be better for Pneumonia though, might want to do some research. Hope she gets well quick!

Hi, Thank you for your response. I checked with the vet about the penicillin, and he said that it works great for alot of things but not for lung problems and that the tetracycline is best for a gosling. There is a stronger antibiotic but it can cause hardening of the cartlidge and is better for an older goose unless the tetracycline doesn't work. The little goose (crikette) seems to be a little better. Thank you again.

Good for you, I guess Pen is a thing of the past becuase I had heard it was used for punemonia at one time. I am happy to hear she is better.
