Hello from Indiana! We haven't gotten our chicks yet but have been planning for a couple of months now. We have broken ground for the coop and hopefully will accomplish erecting it this week-end.
At any rate I am graduating this Friday with an A.S. degree in accounting and with a 4.0 GPA. I am considering the chickens my reward

My DH told me years ago when we got married he'd like to have chickens someday, his family had them when he was growing up. Personally I've never had chickens, but I'm a downright country girl. My Mother loaned me a Mary Jane's Farm magazine several months ago and it had the cutest little chicken coop in it. I couldn't stop thinkin' about it. Needless to say we are getting in far deeper than that.We placed our order for 5 Ameracaunas, 5 Rhode Island Reds, 5 Black Astrolorpes, and 3 Silverlaced Wyandottes, along with 2 turkeys.
We ordered so many taking in to consideration sickness, predators and meaness!!
Glad to have found this forum we have learned alot already.
