I'm a first-time hatcher, getting 8 eggs on my birthday. After letting them rest, I set them in the incubator in the livingroom.
My daughter and her 3 daughters are staying with us for a while. They are 9, 5, and 3.
I was really worried about them bothering the eggs, so we all sat together and had a talk.
It worked! The 3 year old, Pyper, comes to get me every morning, and we check the eggs by peeping through the window. One was cracked, and didn't start forming, so we had to take it out.
I got home yesterday to hear that while I was gone, she threw a conniption fit, crying and fussing at her mother that Cho-Cho (me) was going to be so mad...for making eggs for breakfast!
She's been checking our chickie-children all day and keeps cutting her eyes at her mama.
I think I have a little bodyguard for my eggs!
