The lump is hard but not cartilage-hard. The top part looks like cooked ground turkey? Best I can describe...

I'm not sure what to make of it either, but it does not look like typical lash.
Membranes with a crusty buildup of calcium would be my guess.

I agree, I would take a wait and see approach if she's acting normal.

Thanks guys! You’ve been very helpful. I remember when my first birds began laying they had super thin shells, weird shaped eggs etc. but I’ve never ran into this funk!
