My Hands Were On Fire!!!!

Oh! I've been there done that very recently as a matter of fact. You're right, it hurts!

My story was that I was canning jalapeno pepper jelly (sounds gross, but it is really good!) and wasn't smart enough to wear gloves. Boy oh boy was I sorry! Thank heavens terrielacy came to my rescue, bless her, and told me to soak my hands in milk. Yes, milk! It worked too! I will forever be grateful for that piece of wisdom too and next time I'll wear gloves.

Ol'FashionHen :

Thanks for the tips guys, I did wear gloves during the salsa making/chopping etc.. But I did not think about the steam coming off of it would cause the burning sensation

. I won't forget on my next batch though. I will submit my recipe for salsa tomorrow

The steam was what really got me. I know exactly how you felt!

I have been looking for a good salsa recipe myself. Can't wait for you to post your recipe!

I must be weird.....I have never been burned from handling peppers....If I touch my eyes or lips then it burns but not my hands....now after picking figs my hands get itchy and burny feeling.
