I think you has been crossing ameraucanas and silkies for a while til she finally got silkie feather chickens that lay green eggs. Maybe she will see this and explain it better. I am just so happy they are just too cute!!

Hi Willow! Again --- awesome job incubating and hatching!! That's really impressive.
The silkie feathered green-eggers were a fluke, really. I got 7 'extra chicks for warmth' EE's in an '05 IDEAL order and one turned out to be a pullet. She was prone to fly over fences, so I stuck her in the covered Silkie pen. I set a few of her eggs just for fun and a few hatched with silkie feathering! She didn't look remotely 'Silkie-ish' but carried the silkie feather gene, apparently.

And that's how that got started --- just another 'happy accident'.
