My hatch is due a week from this coming friday

They didn't hatch. All of them were good and everything. Today I finally took them out of the incubator and opened them up. No bad smell, fully formed chicks. yokes fully absorbed. Not sure what went wrong at all. Everything was right just no hatch.

How was your humidity? Eggs all oriented big-end up or on their sides? Did any of your culls look like they had bacteria?

Sorry if those are bad questions. I have eggs in the bator now too, and had a few that inexplicably did this last time. I wanna understand why it happens, too.

That is very odd indeed, I haven't done many hatches, so I don't have the answers yet.
Did you check your air cells on day 18? Were they big enough? They may have drown if the H was too high? Sometimes they get too swollen and can't turn to pip with the H too high. I'm really sorry. That is too bad.

Humidity was good. Kept it at 40 until day 18. Then raised it up to 70 (which is what I keep it at for hatch). I've done this on 2 other hatches this year and they went perfectly.
Aircell on day 18 was great. Just how it should be.
They were kept in egg cartons til day 18. Small end down as always. Then laid on their side. Nobody had bacteria. Just was no reason for it that was obvious. My best guesses are either egg shells were abnormally hard, or chicks weren't strong/internal issues.

Makes me sad. The rooster that fathered those eggs was butchered. He was so beautiful. I was hoping for hens from them. Just wanted one. Ohwell though. I'm happy with the girls from my other two hatches this year.
