My hen can’t stand up

I examined her vent and didn’t notice any egg bound condition. She’s alert, eating and drinking but still can’t walk. She lifts herself up and then sits back down. She waddles a little from place to place. I’ll post a pic.

You might try giving her a human calcium tablet or Tums today in case she is egg bound. I still would worry about possible Mareks disease. Was she vaccinated? Could she be dehydrated?

I purchased her at a local feed store so I don’t know if she’s vaccinated. She’s drinking and I’ve been giving her some water with a dropper to be sure she wasn’t dehydrated.

I brought her into my back porch for a few days for special care. I fed her moringa from our tree and she started gaining strength and trying to walk more everyday. I let her outside yesterday and she went directly to the coop and wanted in with her flock. I let her in while I monitored how they acted towards her. She’s still not fully recovered but is working hard to walk more daily. She still isn’t laying eggs and I do separate her at night for now. I still don’t have any answers so we’re just waiting and hoping she’ll make a full recovery.

Did your hen get more strength from the moringa? Moringa has a lot of health benefits. I've got lots of moringa in our garden.

We noticed a huge difference after feeding her moringa. We have a tree in the coop and feed the hens a little everyday. With Birdie (our injured hen) we gave her a good sized handful and her strength started improving right away.
