My hen escaped and came back badly injured

A lot of people seem to dislike petroleum jelly, but it is the base for most ointments, such as neosporin. I used vaseline gauze and Adaptic for years in hospitals and for burns, so it does work well at keeping wounds moist. I do think the new product that @casportpony listed DermaGel seems really promising. It seems expensive, at $8, but lasts for 5 days. I probably wound not use something like a saline wet to dry dressing, because it can rip off good tissue, as well as dead tissue, but one that keeps the wound moist. Just my two cents.

Neomycin is very good
Neomycin is very good for treating bacterial infection of the intestines, but it is not good for treating systemic infections because it is not absorbed.
