My hen escaped and came back badly injured

I found Veraflox in my pets' medici ne cabinet, but I dont remember which cat it was for or why. Would it have any benefit for Marsala, or maybe for my chickens that get respiratory infections?
That's like Baytril, so it might be useful. How much do you have?

I've been following this thread since the beginning and, can I just say, you all are amazing! What a selfless, supportive, helpful space we have here! The amount of attention and interest to help one chicken in Ohio (and be there for her chicken momma). That is a true community and that is what it is all about. One of the best things I ever did was order a pile of day-old chicks and, in large part, it is because of what I have learned from all of you.

So, from the bottom heart, thank you. And you go girl, Marsala!

You are doing a wondrful job and are receiving great advice. Just popping by to offer moral support, as I have nothing more to add.

In addition to the fabulous first aid & medical care, are you providing supportive care? I’m thinking warmth, electrolytes, extra protein to support tissue growth, and possibly pain relief (unless she’s tolerating the pain ok?)

Happy weekend, everyone! I dont want to keep posting every little detail of this adventure because I dont want to be "that" person, but I was asked for an update so here it is. Im trying to get some good pictures to show Marsala's chest but for all I know maybe they are good and I dont know what Im looking at. She is still eating and drinking on her own, and her poos are a bit runny but otherwise seem plentiful and ok so I think we still have digestion happening. She weighed 2 ounces less today than she did on Thursday but I dont think shes eating as much as she had been, either. Im keeping it high protein with wet cat food, ground beef and gave her a taste of vegetable-beef soup that I made (which she really liked). Shes drinking an electolyte-heavy mix and seems happy with it. Her crop is still exposed and just hanging there, but it is covered by a flap of skin and her feathers seem to be weighing that skin down. But the two bits of skin are not touching so idk how they will grow together, back over the crop. No bad smells, but I did give her .1 cc/ml of my cat's Veraflox anyway. Im spraying it several times a day with peroxide and Vetricyn Plus and leaving it uncovered during the day when I can watch her, but bandaged and dressed at night when we're sleeping. She naps a lot, but I would too if I was recovering from my chest hanging open. Im not really a Religious person but I've been praying a lot these past few days. So here are some pics and the last one is just a funny shot of her mad face because Im messing with her :p

Please, did you see our warnings earlier about not using peroxide anymore? It will damage her skin, and prevent healing, so just use the Vetricyn.

She looks very good, much better. If you can mix a small bowl of chicken feed with a lot of water, then spike it with bits of cooked egg, tuna, hamburger, or liver. But try to get her eating her chickens feed since it has all the nurtients she needs. Occasional canned cat food is okay for a treat.

I think you are doing a great job, and we never mind the frequent updates, but really enjoy hearing how she is doing.

I think she's looking pretty good, good job. I second @Eggcessive's thoughts on using peroxide for two reasons. One is the reason she mentioned, the damage to the tissue, the other is that it's actually not very effective in killing bacteria.

I found this to be very helpful:
