My hen has a mass or tumor

I had a hen about a month ago that had something like a large egg shaped hard tumor like mass inside her,she ended up dieing from it, after she passed I opened her up to see what it was, when I cut the mass in half it had the consistency of a hard boiled egg yolk and was yellow inside. I have a suspicion another one of my hens has a start of the same mass, I can feel something hard inside her in between her rib cage and her rear end. Any ideas what it is or would cause it? Thanks
