My hen has breathing problems?

My hen seems to be breathing loudly. She also can't cluck. When she does cluck it sounds very soft and hoarse. I have her isolated from my rooster just in case she's contaigious. She forages, eats, and sleeps like a normal chicken. what's wrong with her an what can I do to help her? I just got her yesterday from some jerk who did'nt want her anymore and he just told me she's been this way for over a year.
