I have two hens, one of which lays and hatches eggs, while the other hen [Chick] "lays and runs". Chick seemes to enjoy bothering the brooding hen by laying her eggs in the other hen's nest and rolling on her. I closed Chick into her own nesting box at laying time, so she would not be able to lay in Miss Broody's nest. Chick layed an egg, but it had a soft spot in which the yolk was visible. Now Chick does not lay anymore eggs and she is still young. How do I get her to lay eggs and lay in her own nesting box?
