My hen hasn’t laid a normal egg since she was injured by roosters

She was assaulted by multiple cockerel. Pulling up her comb and slicing open her right side on March 26, 2023. She is one of my favorite hens and was my best layer. Now she lays no shell or soft eggs. Also she has not rejoined the flock, staying on the porch and trying to get in the house.

Has Anyone had a similar situation?

Poor girl!

Are her wounds healing o.k.?
Is she otherwise acting normal - eating/drinking, relatively active and talkative to you?

I'd get extra calcium into her for at least a week and see if the shell quality improves.

You can find Calcium Citrate with D3 in the vitamin aisle of stores like Walmart, CVS, etc. Give 1 tablet daily, just pull down on her wattles, pop the tablet into the beak and let her swallow.

Thank you!
I treated her side and scalp/comb wounds with wound care cleaning, butterfly closures and Blu-Kote. The side is still missing feathers and her comb is partially detached but they have healed better than I expected.

She is eating, drinking and defecating. Interacts to the point of stalking us. Mostly is staying in the porch nest but will get out to let the four other hens lay. Refuses her regular rooster (the other roosters have been removed) Those cockerels were ignoring the other 4 hens/pullet.

She is 1year 9 months and the 4 hens and 4 Roos are 6.5 months old.

What dose of calcium?
Thanks again.
