My hen is afraid of her coop after a possem got in.

I know! I put up motion lights and spread some critter ridder around our fence plus checking the coop multiple times a day.

Possum are night time marauders usually. How safe is she at night?
Fix your coop if you want to keep her and then do a search on craigs list in your area and find her a hen companion.
Or offer your girl on craigs list to a good home. State in your add you will deliver your chicken to them. Then that gives you a chance to check out there set up and condition of there birds before you hand her over. You will not feel so bad in parting with her this way.

My only concern is she acted like a rooster when I had the others and now she jumps on my westie dog sometimes. Can’t sleep! Trying hard to make the best for Lucy. Tonight I stayed outside with her until she started her panic. I then put her into her coop with fan and ice blocks, it’s hot! She did well.
I’m going to let my friend try to reown her starting this Sunday, she has a flock. Lucy has been my only girl for two years, she’s a Rhode Island Red strong girl. Her flock is me, my husband and our 2 west highland territory’s!
Her coop is now safe but she’s still afraid and wants to come inside with us. Have I mislead my Lucy? I love her and thinking I should find her a new home. Will she be able to adapted? Six year old spoiled only free ranged hen!
