My hen is laying!!!

Hey byc. My hen "Little Red" is laying now. She's started 4 days ago. Should I let her set or gather the eggs?

ok thanks. this is the first time I've had my own laying flock so Im excited. Also Im planning on expanding my flock for a school project and to make a little money. About how much can 30 hens make a week?

Do you mean how many eggs might they lay in a week? Mine usually lay one a day. During some of the hot times this summer, it's been more like a hen will lay one egg 5 out of 7 days.

So, like all things with chickens, it depends

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Remember hoe I said Little Red was the first one to lay? Well while cleaning up the yard I found Ann, my pure white banty, sitting under a pile of plastic siding. After moving her I discovered she'd been laying for at least a week. She had a clutch of 7 eggs. Since she is mainly my 3 year old sisters pet, I asked her what she wanted to do. She said to let Ann set so I said she can have at it. Ann just laid another egg in the nest. I'm so excited because this is my first time having a hen set.
