my hen just died and left six chicks alone?

how'd the mom die? and gather them up, put them in a brooder, get a red light, feed and water them

oh that's probably the case. i actually dont know if she died. i just assumed a cat or stray dog killed/ate her and the chicks got away.

i have a friend, that was always "losing" chickens. were in a pretty heavily wooded area on the mountain, she just assumed something got them. but more often than not, in a few weeks , here would come mom hen with a bunch of babies out of the woods or from some other secret spot that us silly humans knew nothing about.
