My hen just threw up clear liquid!!!

Please help, my hen just threw up som clear liquid after drinking water! I’m now at work and really really worried about her!

i’m not an expert, but my hens too occasionally “throw up” clear liquid which is actually water. sometimes they just drink it too fast or too much. what was the consistency of the liquid like? watery? or like mucus?

She drank a bunch and went to perch on me and threw up. It was very watery so I am hoping it’s exactly what you said. It was like 95 degrees and she was very thirsty and loves when I give her new water so she drank a lot.

yeah i’m pretty sure it’s just that, just keep an eye on her, make sure she isn’t acting strange or sick. good luck!

Yep. I've had broody hens purposefully regurgitate water for chicks, and have watched chickens who overfilled their crop let a little back out. As long as her crop is empty in the AM she's probably fine. They should go to bed with a full crop and wake up with an empty crop and an appetite.

Check her crop in the morning to make sure it's empty.
Likely she just drank too much water tonight.
