I am covered in blood blisters from an attack today and I need a solution so that I can keep her :(

I love my hens, I got the 3 of them as day old chicks and have raised them to 11 months. They really are pets...except one has gone evil.

She never attacks the other 2 hens so I've been reluctant to do much about her agro ways except give her a bit of a shove when she tries to bite but now it's getting out of hand.

She won't tolerate me at all anymore (she used to love cuddles and eat out of my hand etc), now the only time I'm not a target is if she is eating.

If I crouch down to do gardening to anything she charges at me and rears up, makes a strange growling/purring noise and starts biting. The more I shove her away the more fired up she gets. It's definately not playing, more like a dominance thing and I am loosing despite my bigger size!

I've tried ignoring her but she still charges and bites. Today I tried pushing her into her house when she went nuts but all it got me were 6 blood blisters on my hands and legs from bites.
If I hadn't seen her lay eggs I'd think she was part-rooster!

The other 2 chickens just carry on their merry way and don't care at all and she never shows any aggression towards them.

I adore the 3 of them and would hate to get rid of her so would love any solutions that don't involve the hatchet.

It is a dominance 'thing', and until you convince her that you are dominant it will continue and even escalate. Subordinate her - scoop her up in a net and carry her around. Force her to the ground and hold her there until she stops struggling. Wear glove if necessary. Being nice will not work. The more you tolerate from her, the more you will have to tolerate.
