My hen turkey, displaying

We have the sweetest little girl turkey. We call her Ting, and she is absolutely delightful. She follows me everywhere and sits by me. My husband always picks her up and carries her around with him.

Lately, she's been displaying for us. She gets all puffed up, spreads out her tail feathers, and kinda struts around. It is too funny.

Thought I'd share.

I took a close look at the first image and it certainly looks like a hen's head to me. My hens, especially during breeding season, put on displays as good as the toms do.

one of ours do too. Maybe my screen needs to be bigger.

She is a mix of something, got her from another BYC-er last Easter. I just love her color. Her personality is just fantastic.

She started laying last fall, so I knew she was a she.

It's actually very common for a hen to display like that. There's nothing unusual about it.
