Dang, I thought we were talking chickens! I know nothing about quail!

Quail are gamebirds. They aren't really bred to be pets, and they change over time. I have a female who decided yesterday that she wanted to attack her male, after 8 months of happy times. It happens.

Does your quail have a flock? They do best with other birds.

Sorry that it is upsetting to you. I'd look for ways to make her happy that don't include you handling her if she is not okay with it. Get her friends, make her cage a paradise, watch her having fun.

She doesn't have one because eh.. she got bullied by other birds before so I separated them all but they still see each other everyday but they can't touch

but yeah I can see that they keep changing, I guess I'll just accept her that way.
