my hen wants to be a mommy,but wont lay any eggs to set on!!!

She will set on another hens egg,but when we take it,she just sets on an empty box!She's the one I REALLY wants babies from,but she won't lay eggs!!I don't want to break her broody in case she won't do it again!!would a egg that's been in the fridge hatch???

why don't you put fertile eggs under her at night? i'd imagine that eggs that have already been in the fridge won't work

Thank you so much for responding!She will set on anything at any time basically,we've been trying to fight her broodieness,but she wants to be a mommy REALLY bad.one other hen I have built up a hidden clutch,THEN went broody(till we found her).why hasn't she done that?she just stopped laying!!
