My hen was broody for about 4 hours now shes not helpppp

My little cochin bantam freckles is being broodie for about 4 hours and I went to go check on her and realised a wet spot in the hay so I lifted her up to find a broken egg and I move her tk get new hay there and she isn't acting broody what so ever now. Tell me what I did wrong or how to get her to go broody again pleasee!!! I so badly wanted chicks because I cannot afford an incubator.

X2, she may have been "testing the waters," but she wasn't broody yet.

If you go to tractor supply you can by a Nurture Right 360 incubator for $150 which isn’t to bad

I think she wasn’t broody also, I hope you get a broody or an incubator

There's some great articles on BYC about making a homemade incubator- you should check them out. I've seen some made out of a styrofoam cooler.

I agree, she was not broody. I've had hens sit for that long before. If you want to hatch then you need to get an incubator
