Eggs are fine. Be aware that once egg laying commences, the mother hormones are waning. Momma hen will be less protective of them as hormones wane. So, depending on your flock, the chicks may benefit from some areas only they can get to in case any pecking issues occur.
We’ve had momma hen raised chicks a few times. In our case momma adopts her babies in a brooder (surprise! They appear under her in the dark of night). Momma gets a fenced off area of the run (see-no-touch) for a short time. Once chicks are a week to two old, we allow intermingling and momma does a good job. However, there always seems to be 1-3 pullets (usually the younger ones and lower in pecking order) that try to go after the chicks, chasing and pecking them. So, we provide an area chicks can access, but pullets/hens cannot if the pecking gets too much. It isn’t always needed though, so you might be fine.
