I have a Barred Plymouth Rock that has been laying for about 2-3 weeks. Very healthy and strong, but yesterday when I went out to collect eggs, I noticed she wouldn't stand up. She isn't falling to the sides or laying, just on her "elbows" and tries to scoot around on them.
She is eating and drinking well. No wounds on feet. Didn't feel any broken bones. I confined her so the others won't get after her. I have never run into this problem before. No food changes, she free ranges a few times a week when I am out in the yard, as have my other chickens over that past few years. Any ideas? I love this breed and don't want to lose even one.
