[IMG]A few weeks ago I when I collected eggs I noticed that there was stray pieces of grass collecting in one of the nest boxes. Sure enough the next day there was the prettiest nest in the box. See the photo. I have a half dozen older Russians and Easter Eggers and they have never done this. So I assume it is one of the new barred rock chicks that I picked up last fall. Anyone else experience this before?

As far as I know, all chickens,or most will make some sort of nest. Some are lazy and just jump up in the box and do their duty and leave.

I have never had them bring grass into the coop. When they build a nest it is usually hidden.
