My og flock of 12 hens and my primary rooster have got the grouch bug or something. I’ve also got a bachelor flock of 4 roosters. The boys occasionally bicker nothing serious. And usually the og flock is quiet and calm unless singing the egg song. But here lately, my hens have been just been bicker bananas! My broody hen just had 3 littles 4 weeks ago, and she of course chases everybody away. Another hen is weaning her littles so she chases them away. My austrolorp is picking at my Cochin hen, they grew up together so I don’t know what’s up with that. The broody hen got into an actual fight with another hen to the point my rooster had to break it up. It’s not a space issue, this happens when they’re free ranging. And Ive doubled the coop size. (8x15x50) Is it the heat? Hormones? What? I had broody hens and babies last year and I don’t remember this bickering going on.
