My hens are working together with their chicks

Whenever Ive had more then one hen with chicks they have always been more than willing to share in caring for the chicks.

I am seeing that more and more in posts as I read through them.

Wow, I cannot believe how fast they are growing. They are 5 weeks old today (Aug 9). Most of these pics are a couple days ago. They are certainly getting their own looks to them now.

Five weeks old today. This is the first night that all of them went up high. The last 2 nights three of them went up with the one hen and the others stayed in the box on the floor with the other hen. They picked the highest point to roost on. They may be in for a surprise in the morning when it is time to come down.

They are going to learn so much from your hens.
Looks like you have several cockerels.
They will start chicken puberty at around 12 weeks old. Much sooner than the girls.

yeah, I was thinking that I have a few. So my flock will be getting a bit smaller as I look for homes for them.

You might want to post on your state thread and see if you can stir up any interest.
Adding your general location to your profile might help too.
The chicks have very interesting breed mixes in them.

I will have to do that. As far as breeds go, all I know is what the lady posted in the ad when I got the eggs and it was quite a variety. I know the black langshan rooster was gorgeous! I didn't see the other one.
