My hens aren't laying. Advice please?

They will lay eggs whether they are cramped or not. Think of battery hens.

Timing, moving and just "because" can all be reasons they wont lay. They DEFINATELY slow down in the winter, even if you try to counteract it.

I would recommend being patience, but that would be hypocritical of me!

THEY ARE IN MOLT. THEY WONT LAY. THEY NEED ALL THEIR PROTEIN FOR NEW FEATHERS.

hehe. sorry, trying out the all caps thing.

Your rooster would crow, the big white hen with feathers on her feet with dark markings is a light brahma. They won't lay until they are done with their molt which can last a while. My chickens just went through A molt, not THE molt, and it took them 3 months. Be patient, and please, no caps, in internet language, it is yelling.

OOPS. TURNED OUT I MISREAD THAT... IT SAID THEY ARE NOT IN MOLT...

Nothing you can do will make them lay, they will lay when they are ready to. They are living creatures, not machines.

A lot of people are having the same problem right now, the goofy weather we've had could have someting to do with it.

I have 3 RIR's which normally lay trough winter, but they are in molt, so no eggs from them.

Oh I had a little chickie and she wouldn't lay an egg
so I poured hot water up and down her legg
and the little chickie cried and the little chickie begged
and the little chickie layed me a hard boiled egg.

Dunt da da daaa dunt some chick!
