my hens bare nest lay

MY HENS, 4 OF THEM ARE laying, but I HAVE 3 nesting boxes, comfy, with wood shavings and a little straw on top, I HAVED NOTIVCED all the hens are laying inj the same nesting box. THE OTHER NESTING BOXES ARE THE SAME, is that correct, or what. ROOSTING, THEY ALL ROOST ON THE SAME perch at night. Out of the 4 hens I GET 2 EGGS A DAY, IS THAt RIGHT, SO ALL my hens are laying, I HAVE 4

I'm not sure what you are asking?

But it is normal for them all to want to use the same nest box, sometimes they will sit on top of each other even.

I am confused about the laying part, because you say all 4 are laying, then you say you get 2 eggs a day?

I have 10 nesting boxes for 30 chickens, there are 2 nesting boxes that never are used, so yes, that's normal. As for only getting 2 eggs a day, hen don't lay everyday, and maybe, depending on age, somebody's not laying yet, some hens don't lay till they are almost a year old. Enjoy the 2 eggs yo are getting.

What I AM asking is I HAVE 4 hens, and I get 2 eggs a day. SO DOES THAT MEAN that some of my hens are not laying? How many eggs a day should I HAVE, since I HAVE 4 HENS, 3 RIR ARE 9 MONTHS OLD, JUST STARTED , AND L HEN IS WELSUMMER, AND not sure what she does,

I AM ALSO ASKING, WHY AND IS IT OK, THAT my hens, make a nest of their nice wood shaving and straw, to lay on bare wood of their nesting boxes. ARE THEY MOVING IT OR IS THE EGG LAYING SITTING PROCESS, MAKING IT MOVE/ EITHER WAY my hens are laying on bare wood nest box floors

My hens (3) all use the same box. Then one day this winter, the all inexplicably decided to move their laying process to a corner of the coop between the pen door and their food bin. In this corner the scattered all the shavings and layed the eggs on the linoleum floor of the coop. They now have all returned to their nesting box, just as quitely and they left.

Finicky little critters.
