Sorry, but cheer up, your chickens are just as disappointed that they have no more Hosta plants to ravage.

This is so funny and caught my eye because...
the deer eat our hostas every year.
They've long ago demolished my giant blues and steadily work on the little bi-color clumps in the middle of the night.
I was going to move them into the fenced backyard to save them from being eventually wiped out... but after reading your post I now know the girls would wreck 'em. Thank you so much for saving me the backbreaking work & heartache !!!!!!

(now I'll move them somewhere totally different, really -thankyou)

My pleasure. I'm so disappointed. I love my Hosta plants. Not this summer. Next summer I need to plan a bit more instead of trusting these fluffy butts.
Good luck

Never trust a fluffybutt with plants. They're like little dinosaurs, they'll demolish everything. Move the other plants before it's too late...

On a more serious note, I'm sorry about your hastas. :( I'm thinking of planting a chicken garden, full of edible plants just for the chickens. Maybe I'll plant a couple hastas. Hope you can get some more. They really are beautiful.

Definitely plant Hostas for them. Mine go nuts for collard greens and kale too. Nuts!

You do know that if you transplant the remaining stubs/root system they'll come back next year?
The deer eat ours EVERY year, they pop up again the next Spring.
Good luck to you too.

Too funny. I just was reading that on Grits website.
