my hens dont use the coop right

My hens have been backwards from the get go what am I doing wrong? They have a chicken tractor and at the end i have the coop with two nestboxes and two 3 1/2 foot roosts. They lay their eggs on the floor in the corner and all sleep on the floor along one side. Whats up with them i put fake eggs in the nestbox and the next morning they will have moved the fake eggs to the favorite spot on the floor over and over again and the whole roosting thing i thought it was natural for them to want to sleep higher up

I wish I could help. I started 5 days ago and they go where they are suposed to, roost on the bar we built, and have started alying. I wish you luck...

LOL! Good luck with that one....I built mine a nice nest box (that needs to be modified now) but they refused to lay in it. They all lay in the same spot: the corner of the coop in the litter. On top of that, my youngest ones wouldn't roost AT ALL until they hit about 3 months old.

I have a pet carrier that I took the door off of, long rectagular, made of plastic. One uses it and the other one works it out from the wall, scoots behind it and lays her eggs! Argh. My others are not laying yet. I think chickens have a little bit of labrador in them.

We built our boxes into the side of the shed - three on the bottom and three on the top with the roosting bar above it - one chicken layed in the cat carrier so we put the carrier in the nesting box (open front). She still lays in it.
