Sweepea is our first broody girl. She's been diligently sitting on 4 eggs, then grabbed 2 more in the last couple of weeks. I always pick her up and get her out of the coop twice a day. I picked her up this morning...and...a BABY was there!!!! I was so elated!!!

My question is...she's still in the coop with the other 2 hens and 2 roosters. Should I move her and the baby and eggs into our duck coop and run (the ducks don't use either anymore) or will they be ok in the chicken coop they're in now? I don't know how the babies will get down the ladder to get out of the coop. I don't put food or water in the coop....should I now??

Thanks in advance for any and all help!!!!!!

She doesn't mind me picking her up. Could I move the eggs and baby into the duck house while I put her out of the coop to get some food and water, and put her into the duck house? We do have one 'mean' rooster that we are wondering if he may try to eat the babies?
Thank you for your help!
