My hens have been so naughty,

I knew that my BCM hens did not like their scrawny new rooster, but when I hatched out a batch of their eggs, most of the chicks were blue. The only explanation is that they must have been visiting my lovely splash rooster in the pen next door. I never suspected because they are in their own coop each night when I lock them up. It looks like I need to inspect my fence and get a rooster they like if I am going to have any BCM chicks.

Blue x blue = a mix of blue, splash, and black. The blue color doesn't breed true.

They are all black copper marans and so is their rooster. No blue in the bunch in their pen.
