My Hens landed a noble job!!

Oh how wonderful! Congrats to you and your girls for their assistance in doing this wonderful thing. Cochins are supposed to be a broody bit of goods, silkies are broody maniacs and I hear that BOs and Aussies are pretty good too.

Good luck with this wonderful project.

Thanks for the recommendations - Cetawin, I have to admit that I'm glad you chimed in... the pic you have posted of your 17 month old Splash Orphington popped in my head while we were talking about this project this morning, partly because he's so BIG, but also because he seems like such a sweetheart - are they generally sweet like that? The reason they're so enthusiastic about my girls is because they are so very easy going - something that helps when they're hand turning eggs three times a day...

Oh absolutely! I won't miss the chance to take pics to share with my BYC buddies!! Nobody else would appreciate this like you guys - honestly, it's half the fun!

, I have a little frizzle hen, Senorita Broody Pants who wants to help. If she sees an unattended egg she will roll it in to her stash. the last time we were NINP tested she was in full broody mode. the vets flipped a coin to she who had to grab her. It was not pretty.
