I purchased 4 RIR and two Rhode Island white's from a freind over a month ago and have fed the hens and my RIR roo Layena crumble.
Also have fake eggs in my nesting boxes try'n to give the girls a hint.

When should I expect to see my first eggs?

I might be a little over anxious, but I thought these birds would be starting laying by now.

What do ya think?

On November 20th the hens will be 7 months old.

I was hoping a month in their new home here would be enuff to get adjusted.

I am just too anxious I guess.

I have a RIR born April 15th she has been laying since late september . That being said she was my only early layer ... she layed before 3 of my sexlinks that were hatched almost a month earlier . They have to get to about 6 lbs before their body tells them to start laying .
