my hens

i have 2 broody hens sitting on 6 eggs each i have had sent to me in the post from a breeder there have been sitting on them since thursday now 4 days have put them both out in the morring for about 15 mins to feed and get water as they wont come out on there own how can i tell if any of the egg r starting to grow chicks in them plzz any advice plzz

Do you mean "torch"? Any good quality torch and a very dark room will do. You won't be able to see much before day 7 at least though. Wait until next Thursday and have a look. Fingers crossed they are developing for you!

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan

If you are inexperienced at candling wait until day 10, the embryos are much easier to see at that point.

Hi and from Ohio. So glad to have you aboard. I wait until day 7 before I candle. I use a super bright flashlight.

ok will try at day 10 just a bit worred because i picked 1 egg up and i felt as if it was sloshing a bit is that a bad sign thanks for your advice
