When I was growing up on the west coast we lived next to a Hippie commune, so I was exposed to organic foods and self relence husbandry early in life. We we just bought a small farm and today we picked up our Rooster and 5 hens. The Roo is a beautiful RR very dark red color the hens are one RR a black hen i think is an Austrolope (The Aussie birds) then I have three that I am not sure of one is grey, one blue and a White hen that looks as if she is a Delaware. They settled into the Farm nicely and with all of our plans for the gardens and fruit trees this is going to be a very busy summer of getting back to the land. I have really enjoyed reading about the different breeds and hope to be getting some Partridge Chanties soon.
