My homemade bator

well guys I guess Im in business . My quail have started to hatch last night around 11 We were watching some TV and I heard a faint peep peep peep. I told my wife that didnt sound right (since we have 15 chicks in the kitchen) and when I looked in the homade bator I had 3 baby quail and alot more rockin goin on. Well this moning Im up to 21 out of 40 and these are from some young layers. so Im guessing my hatches are just going to get better. This time I used a smaller bottle of water and dropped the RH down to 30% and upped it to 55-60 at lockdown. so far it only looks like 1 pipped and stopped as apposed to the chicken eggs..

Oh and theres 1 with his head stuck in the egg and its driving me crazy. I want to open and help the little guy but Ill wait. hes running around bashing into stuff . Its so sad

Awww poor little guy, hopefully he gets it off soon. Congrats on your babies!

I must be an evil person because the picture that statement put into my head made me chuckle. I very much doubt I'd be chuckling if I saw it, though.

Being a do it yourselfer and overall home handylady I admire your work there. Love PVC! I think for my next birthday if my kids just gave me PVC pipe and fittings and nothing else I'd be happy! That stuff has so many uses.
