My Homemade Canadian Coop

Flooring on

I was going to put it up a foot on the sides because I'm going to do deep bedding, but this still (rolled vinyl) does not like to stick to vertical surfaces. So I might just paint the interior with more barn paint.
Good clean job. Once you have the inside wall surface done and prepped for paint (primer done)… May I suggest a paintable silicon sealant tube for the base of the walls and the true corners up to … say 12-15”?

This will allow you to get a very solid seal for if you ever desire to “truly rinse out the floor once a year” you can! This will nearly zero the chance of getting the water to liquify the poo & soak into the seams and then allow that dissolved poo to fill voids under the floor & in the walls for a not so fun fragrance and stuff to begins to decompose and compost on the wood frame …. Which will compromise all your structural foundation work in a New York minute… inviting all kinds of insects to climb up etc…..

I went with black sealant for the edges and walls up to 18 inches. I don't plan to ever wet down the inside; too many nooks and crannies as a result of using pallets to get a proper full waterproof seal. This will do for the deep bedding I plan to use.

Might need more reinforcing (currently reinforced st the mid point) but for now at least it's there!
Might I suggest you take a look at the older thread on roosting rail testing? (I have it “saved” so if need be I can go get a copy n paste it here if you can’t find it?
