Isn't it cost prohibitive to get one? I can imagine the insurance these days!

I don't think I ever could get into one without getting altitude sickness....almost lost my lunch on the way up to the St Louis arch when my ears popped and then stomach queasy....Once i was up there, sat down and I was ok within five minutes acted like nothing has happened. Then it almost happened again half way down.....sick! I was alright once my feet hit the ground. Probably due to my HBP or my body just hyper reactive to the distance in the sky.

I'm not afraid of heights at all, but this ride actually wasn't bad for those who would be afraid. You feel like you are floating, and you hardly feel any movement at all. The pilot also explained that since the balloon is moving with the wind, you don't feel any wind at all. It was a bit hot with the flames every now and then, but it was a nice cool night so it was perfect.

The landing might be a little scary for some but it wasn't that bad. We landed in the middle of a development and had a close call with a house but I thought it was very exciting! Afterwards everyone went back to the balloon field and there was a really nice gathering of all the pilots, chasers, and passengers. We had champagne, cheese, chips, and 1mommahen's home grown tomatoes. (which were delicious!)

I think I was up in the balloon for 30 or 40 minutes, but I didn't actually time it. It felt like I was up there for a long time! When I was in Arizona I went in a helicopter, but this was really nice because you are completely exposed. It is so quiet up that high. I think we went up to about 2,000 feet.

I told my DH the other day i wanted to take a ride in one of these, heck i would love to own a small one to ride around in He told me to go find one LOL, mabe he is thinking i can't.
