I'm so excited to begin my chicken adventure!! I've always wanted to live on a farm, but unfortunately life didn't hand me this opportunity. The good thing though is God has blessed me with many animals in spite of not living on a farm. We have 5 dogs, 4 cats (3 of them adopted us by being dropped off, but that's ok), recently added 2 mini donkeys that I absolutely ADORE, and finally last night - added 4 chickens. We bought 5 of them from Dinky's auction barn, but one did not make it. It was so cold last night and I just wonder if the cold night air, plus the stress of being in the auction house didn't have something to do with it. I have NO IDEA what kind they are or how old. One appears to be older than the others, but 3 of them appear to be approximately 12 weeks old. I don't know this for sure, just browsed through pics and tried to get an idea. I don't even know if any of them will be hens or they will all be roosters - let's hope HENS!! I'll post some pics of them tomorrow to try and see if someone may know what kind they are. From some of the pics online, appears maybe 2 - Black Australorps and 2 - New Hampshire Reds, but who knows. Hopefully when I get pics posted someone would be so kind to give me some ideas. Thanks all, so happy to be apart of this great site!! What a true blessing!!!
