This is a group of roosters in May, when they were about 9 weeks old. The black one is the White-Faced Black Spanish.

For the record, those roosters are now 6 months old, and the Spanish and Andalusians have just ENORMOUS combs. Much larger than I'd ever seen on regular ol' roosters.

oh my gosh! what a gorgeous birdie, i love the way the roos look...like a spanish artist or something with a beret and their ears look like a beauty mark. very dashing

Yeas, they are rather odd looking, but they lay the HUGEST white eggs, no starting out with little ones.... big from the start. They are great foragers, not good lap dogs, but they give you the sense that they'll take care of themselves. Thin, long, and it's a wonder how such a large egg comes from such a small bird.

Once ours take on the clown face, I'll probably avert my eyes more often.

So I just wanted everyone to know, for refference that SHE has laid a few eggs now! And yes she is still my hubby's favorite...he named her "Pigeon" like from lady and the tramp!
