My huge roo broke his leg

You can try the sling but I would assume that it would only complicate things. If there is no swelling then it is possible he just sprained it. I would just leave him alone for a while. As long as he is eating and drinking then he is fine. If he still can't move in a week then he might have a broken leg.
Good advice. Thank you. He seems to know what he can and cannot do. I found a plastic bin for him and he filled the whole thing up. He's very very large.
IME, even with a fracture you can usually feel it and there will be some bruising along with swelling.

You can try a sling to see if he will tolerate it, but it's a good idea to wrap/splint and/or stabilize the leg even if you sling him break/fracture mends the best it can. This will likely take a couple of months to heal relatively well, maybe more for a large rooster that is heavy.

If at all possible, it's best to see vet care and have an xray to see if the leg is broken or ....

Here's a splinting manual that you may find helpful

Thank you very much

Update on Lazy Leroy. I took him to Aloha Vet in Hilo. Leroy is 13.7 lbs with loss weight. His ideal weight is around 15-16 lbs. He got an X-ray and exam and no break. Bad sprain, perhaps tendons / ligaments. He can move his leg so it should heal enough to be used. If not the vet can lock his leg in place because he's way too big for amputation but doesn't seem necessary. He'd last a week hoping on one leg that heavy. Leroy need to be nursed and know someone is there for him. So he goes to work with me when works not home.
He's with me fenced away from the others but some young hens. He hobbles a little but mostly stays in place. His pain seems to not be bothering him so I'm holding him from his belly so he can stand up, stretch out and use his muscles without using his weight.
The vet was curious how it happened. With so much cock fighting locally she wanted to meet me because it was a morning drop off. Quickly she realized this is a loved pet and not a huge prize fighter. This is good, it means she wouldn't give him up if he was fought. I like this vet.
It's not the value but the relationship that matters. Aloha

Double update!!! Leroy is perky and quiet active. The picture makes him look like he's bummed. If had posted a video you can see he's fine!! 😁

What a sweet Fella!❤️

I'm glad to hear you had him checked out.

I hope he improves more!

You mention you having to hold him up. He may enjoy being placed in a sling for short periods of time. People are quite creative when making slings, chairs and even "wheel chairs" for their hens and roosters.
Just a few ideas, there are lot more if you search the web.
