My husband just sprayed weed killer

I agree with you some of the prettiest things happen to my lawn if I don't mow it for several weeks. It is actually quite beautiful right now since he's been out of town for a while. I have these delicate little purple flowers and some kind of lush green carpet with little blue flowers.
By the way, I have 6 sweet chickens (1 Rhode Island Red and the rest Aracaunas) and they do have an outdoor run that they will have to be in for the next couple of weeks. I will just have to give them some extra loven'. By the way, my husband built the coop and the totally enclosed run for them. It's real nice. I still love him.

Weeds are just flower that have not bloomed yet. My neighbor cuts her yard twice a week. Sometime she cuts it so short she makes the dirt fly. I wounder why she hates the grass so much. I only cut mime twice a month. Sometime I will not even cut certain parts if it is blooming. I think that I drive her crazy.

I would definitely wait for 2-3 weeks at a minimum, but more importantly would be a few good rains.

I know I've said this before on this site, but herbicides are not safe for animals (people included). There are epidemiological studies that show that people who use a lotof herbicides (farmers, groundskeepers at golf courses, etc.) have a much higher incidence of cancer than the rest of us.

You also may not be able to replant in the flower bed if there is a lot of herbicide in there.

Good Information, I just went a round with hubby for doing this very thing. I gave him vinegar and dawn last night and he used it this morning then turned right around with pesticide and sprayed the fence line and gravel driveway. Ugh! Thank God it is supposed to rain heavy Tuesday thru to next Sunday, but I feel so bad for the hens, they have to stay cooped up for the next week or two hopefully the good news is hubby understands now that this yard belongs to the chickens and if it isn't good for them, it's not happening. I love my hubby but sometime I wonder just what they are thinking :/
