My Idea For Poop Collection and Cleaning

Old plastic cafateria trays on a 2 by 2 frame work under roosts. Catch poop, scrape into Rubbermaid tote and spread in the garden. Easy to remove and wash as needed. Hope it works. Note I used 1/4 inch masonite on walls for easy cleaning as well.

Is there anything to lock the trays in? I notice that they hang over the edge provided by the 2x2s. I'd be worried about the chickens landing on or walking along that lip and causing them to flip off.. maybe hurting the chicken.

Ya, has it been tested to be tried and true? I like the idea also but am also wondering if they would get knocked.

Yes the trays hang off the edge alittle. Maybe 3/4 of and inch ! don't think the girls will tip them over. Honestly, hope i gotta clean poop off every day. Great for the garden.
Yes, proberbly what will end up on the trays will be better than what was on them previously. Good sense of humor.

P.S. You might need to compost the poo before you put it in your garden, though.
