My incubator story

Hello BYC! I know it has been a long time since you heard from me. We forgot to pay the phone company and they shut off our internet. A lot has happened since my last post! We now have an incubator and its day 12 of incubation! We lost three of our other baby chicks (they slipped through a hole in the pen and some animal probably got them) that was sad so where now down to 2 baby chicks and 3 grown up chicks. Hope this incubator does well!

Home made styrofoam incubator. Thanks for the support! I need all I can get!!! On the upside, the remaining chickens are very very healthy!!!

Hugh, bad news. I went to candle the eggs. After I picked one up, I tripped. It smashed and I smelled something disgusting. I looked and saw what looked like a pale soggy boiled egg yoke, a little blood, nothing that looked like an almost formed (17 days) chick. This worries me, the large fluctuating in my incubator I'm afraid is the cause of it. I'm worried.
