Yes it's all been a learning curve.( Same with my kids!) The new pen is almost complete and hope to be getting some new babies once this weather breaks. The silkies are doing wonderfully, although they are still quite shy of me. Most likely because we have had nothing but rain rain and some snow along with more rain here in East Tennessee since I brought them home. I havent had much chance to go sit with them. Maybe once THIS particular storm gets over its self, i can go perch myself in there with them and bribe them to like me with bananas...they seem to love them! Glad I came to read about oranges before offering them any. I read so many about being ok to give to them with the exception of the pith and seeds. Still not sure i'm comfortable offering them even small pieces. But bananas...those 2 cant seem to get enough. Good thing my son cant either so theres rarely any to offer them!
Again thanks for the warm welcome. I look forward to reading more advice and information!!!
We have all but finished the new pen. I'm going to post pictures on my profile. My husband calls it the fortress! All that is left is to put the roof on. I plan on clipping wings from early on. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I just dont want to lose any more due to precautions not taken.
